Citizen Science

We take a data-driven approach to improving biodiversity in the Garden and enjoy monitoring progress and measuring impact with fantastic tools and initiatives such as Flower Insect Timed Counts, the Big Garden Bird Count, eBird surveys, the Big Butterfly Count and OPAL pond testing.

We partner with Pollinating London Together, QMUL and  Green Space Information for London (GIGL) to ensure our small data sets become part of the bigger picture and we’re always on the lookout for new tools to trial and new volunteers to count pollinators, identify moths and listen to birds singing their hearts out in the towering canopies above.

Nature is magnificent. And so is the tech that teaches us new ways of seeing and helps us scale our efforts to protect urban nature. If you’re keen to learn more and share ideas, get in touch!
